Lightyears, now 2LIGHTYEARS are a 5 pieces female fronted band since 2017, capable of generating a compact and recognizable sound, with the intent to share their positive energy.

They sign with TOO LOUD RECORDS / WormHoleDeath in 2017 and recorded the first EP “ERASE” at TITAN LAB Recording Studio with the production, mix and master of Riccardo Daga.

After the promotion of their first EP and little change in the name, now 2LIGHTYEARS come back in the studio for their first full lenght, “Empty Words”, produced, recorded and mixed by Riccardo Daga at TITANS LAB Recording Studio and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East in USA.

An album with the same energy as its predecessor but with a lot of new melodies than before.

…un pugno di canzoni che scorrono lisce e molto radiofoniche in questo “Empty words”, leggere e tranquille, tanto da andare praticamente a lambire addirittura i lidi pop, per quanto la musica rifugge le spigolosità del metal e del rock più pesante, finendo per farsi notare nella elegante “I still believe”, o nella up tempo ma moderata “It’s echoing”, passando per la romanticità di “Numb”…67/100

…A costruzioni pop rock, i ragazzi (quasi sempre) decidono di fare della ricerca melodica una scelta che non fa perdere quotazioni nel loro songwriting, piuttosto impreziosisce i brani, per dirla in altri termini nelle tracce troverete chorus che si lasciano ascoltare e riascoltare più volte (e perché no anche cantare)…7/10

REVIEWS – Erase EP

…Die noch recht junge Band hat kürzlich ihre erste EP eingespielt, mit der man sich zwar zweifelsfrei für den Mainstream entscheidet, an sich aber ein paar nette Pop-Punk-Hymnen zusammengestellt hat, mit denen man bei der Masse erfolg haben könnte. ‘The Story’ und ‘Show Me’ gefallen mit angenehmen Refrains, ‘Say It’ hat auch abseits des Chorus’ eine anständige Hookline, und im abschließenden ‘Sticks & Stones’ dürfen auch mal ein paar kraftvollere Shouts ertönen, um dem Material ein bisschen mehr Punch zu verpassen…

…Sebbene hanno un suono che potremmo definire quasi inglese, i Lightyears sono italianissimi fino al midollo…Bene i Lightyears fanno parte di questa schiera di ottime band, che con la loro proposta musicale in bilico tra metal, alternative e rock ci fanno davvero inorgoglire…Erase ha un unico neo, quello di contenere solo cinque brani. Aspettiamo con ansia un bell full-lenght…

…il disco è ben suonato e cantato, e sarebbe troppo facile e ingeneroso bollare i Lightyears come l’ennesima rock band con voce femminile. Gli amanti del genere ritroveranno tutti gli elementi che l’hanno reso appetibile fin dall’inizio e i neofiti scopriranno un rock melodico e godibilissimo.
I Lightyears dimostrano con questo EP di aver un buon potenziale e meritano sinceramente un ascolto…

…This is actually radio-friendly music (except for Sticks & Stones), it is very easy to listen to. I get what they say with ‘’transmitting positive energy’’, but I think most of the stories behind the music are pretty dark. Lightyears has definitely a LOT of potential, just take away the screams (or replace them with male cleans), add more bass and you have a perfect formula…6,5/10
